The Decision

Back to Home

My quest for spiritual peace and reconciliation with God came to a head on January 17, 1983.  My process of conversion did not happen overnight.  I spent some time reading (primarily the first four books of the New Testament called the Gospels,  Psalms and Proverbs) in a short version of the Bible given to me by a Gideon.  One day, during this process I read Psalm 51, wept and read the following:

Confessing to God that I am a sinner, and believing that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification, I do now receive and confess Him as my personal Lord and Savior.

From that point on in my life I have tried to live a Godly life, mostly failing but, having the following assurances I keep trying:

John 5:24  Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life.

Philippians 1:6  And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:13  I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.

John 14:15  "If you love me, you will keep my commandments".

John 20:31  but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

If you make that decision to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I recommend that you do the following:

1)  Tell someone

2)  "Make" time for Bible reading

3)  Pray for guidance

4)  Find a Christ centered Church

5)  Talk to the Pastor

All these things will help you grow in Christian faith community.  Feel free to e-mail me at webmaster.malachi@cox.net if you have any questions or just want to exchange thoughts.
